Spotlight On: Kunta Kinte – Alex Haley Memorial at City Dock

This memorial includes a sculptural grouping depicting Alex Haley, author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel Roots, speaking to children about his ancestor Kunta Kinte, an enslaved African brought to Annapolis in 1767 aboard the ship Lord Ligonier.
