Shop Local! Shopping Opportunities & “Midnight Madness” Events

For many this year, the motivation to “Shop Local” is stronger than ever before. Tonight, Midnight Madness kicks off in downtown Annapolis; due to safety precautions, this year the Downtown Annapolis Partnership will offer a more scaled-back version than our city’s traditional shopping celebration. “Midnight Madness” events will take place Dec 3, 10, and 17, as businesses along Main Street, West Street, Maryland Avenue, State Circle, and Dock Street feature extended hours, with some even open until midnight. Streets and stores will be adorned with holiday decorations, trees, garland, snowflakes, bows, and lights to create a Downtown Winter Wonderland.

If you’re not ready to come out and shop in person, you can still buy local gifts from the comfort of your home. For something really unique, check out Maryland Federation of Art’s In the Box. Purchase a box before this Saturday, December 5th, to receive a new piece for your collection or to gift a surprise for the art lover in your life.
