Reminder! Maryland Grants for Nonprofit Organizations Still Available

GrantsReminder, the following grants through the State of Maryland are still open and accepting applications for eligible nonprofits. Deadlines are coming up soon in September (one closes early next week) so be sure to apply while funds are available! Click on the grant title for more information.

Maryland Nonprofit Recovery Initiative (NORI) Grant

Funding Organization: Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD)

Deadline: The application portal will close September 1, 2020 at 5:00 PM a​​t the latest; the portal may close if and when grant requests exceed available funding.

Guidelines: The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) is administering up to $40 million of the Governor’s $50 million Nonprofit Recovery Initiative (NORI). Of the $40 million being administered by DHCD, up to $30 million will be for nonprofits whose mission and work is focused on the economic development and economic recovery of Maryland communities as well as those nonprofits that focus on the health and human services and housing of underserved Maryland populations.

Applicants from heritage and cultural organizations must ensure you describe your economic development and recovery role on the application in order to avoid disqualification.

Maryland State Arts Council Grants for Organizations (GFO)

Funding Organization: Maryland State Arts Council

Deadline: Intent to Apply Applications are due September 15, 2020 

Guidelines: The Grants for Organizations (GFO) granting program provides unrestricted general operating support to nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations, as well as units of government, that produce or present ongoing arts programming that is open to the public.  GFO awardees educate children, uplift communities, stimulate business activity and support jobs.
