Nine Mini-Grants Awarded to Organizations in Annapolis and Anne Arundel County

Four Rivers Heritage Area is pleased to announce nine new Mini-Grant awards to local heritage-related nonprofit organizations as part of our FY22 Mini-Grant opportunity. The grants awarded this fall totaled $28,000 for overall projects of $264,964. This matching Mini-Grants program, made possible through a Block Grant from the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority, augmented this year by an anonymous donor, leverages other funding to assist local heritage related non-profit organizations to create new programs, products, activities, and events that build upon heritage-based interpretive themes, foster collaborative partnerships, and enhance local cultural historic resources and heritage tourism.   

Organizations and projects approved for Fall FY2022 Mini-Grant awards include:

  • Annapolis Maritime Museum and Park, “Preservation of Skipjack Lydia D,” $2,500
  • Captain Avery Museum, “Expanding Learning and Accessibility,” $2,500
  • Chesapeake Arts Center, “Community Open House,” $2,500
  • Chesapeake Children’s Museum and Partners, “Maryland Day Weekend 2022,” $4,000
  • Chesapeake Children’s Museum, “Hello Radio! A Look Back at How Radio Was Involved in Civil Rights,” $3,000
  • Hammond-Harwood House, “Exhibition Catalogue for ‘Ambition: Charles Willson Peale in Annapolis’,” $2,500
  • Historic Annapolis, “James Brice House Master Interpretive Plan,” $2,500
  • London Town Foundation, “The William Brown House Reinterpretation Project,” $3,500
  • Lost Towns Project, “Native American Archaeology and Heritage Toolbox: Resources for the Schools & the Public,” $5,000
