New Multi-Media Online Exhibit from Preservation Maryland Celebrates Women’s Suffrage
Our friends at Preservation Maryland have shared the following:
“One hundred years ago today, the 19th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States was signed into law and officially granted over 20 million American women the right to vote. In recognition of the struggles and achievements of a once disenfranchised majority, Preservation Maryland is honored to present our contribution to the national efforts illuminating this important history: Ballot & Beyond.
“Through ‘Ballot & Beyond,’ Preservation Maryland is using our 21th-century tools and an inclusive historic approach to elevate the complex history of Maryland’s suffragists and their lasting legacy on equality in the United States. Biographical sketches and historic images of over forty remarkable Maryland women, suffragists, legislators, judges, philanthropists, doctors, and more are now streaming for free on ‘Ballot & Beyond.’
