Memorial Day Weekend in the Four Rivers Heritage Area

Memorial Day Weekend in the Four Rivers Heritage Area

Memorial Day is an important holiday in the Four Rivers Heritage Area, a day for remembering and honoring all members of the armed forces who have lost their lives in service.

Below are events in our area that will commemorate the day:

Annapolis Memorial Day Parade

Monday, May 29, 10:00 a.m.

The parade follows the traditional route on West Street. It goes around Church Circle, down Main Street, and ends at City Dock. Marching bands, as well as veteran, community, and patriotic organizations will be part of the parade honoring and remembering those who have died serving our country. Immediately following the parade will be the annual wreath laying ceremony at Susan Campbell Park. This ceremony is open to the public and all are welcome. For more information about the parade, call 410-263-7996.

Deale Area Memorial Day Remembrance

Monday, May 29, 10:00 am
Cedar Grove United Methodist Church
Veterans Memorial
5965 Deale-Churchton Road, Deale

The Deale Area Historical Society invites you to attend a special Memorial Day Remembrance in honor of generations of local veterans. The event will happen rain or shine.

In honoring the sacrifices of past, it is also important to look towards the future. Memorial Day weekend coincides with the United States Naval Academy’s Commissioning Ceremony this Friday. We’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of our new officers and thank them for the commitment they are making to our country!
