The first block of West Street (from Church Circle to Calvert Street), located in the heart of the Arts District, will be closed to traffic on Wednesday evenings and filled with cafe tables reminiscent of the open air cafes in France, Spain and Italy. Visitors and area residents are invited to dine, stroll and shop along West Street while enjoying live music beneath a canopy of lights.

Former Historic Annapolis curator Alexandra Deutsch, now Director of Collections and Interpretation for the Maryland Historical Society and author of A Woman of Two Worlds: Elizabeth Patterson Bonaparte, will speak about one of Maryland’s most intriguing women and the imperial legacy she forged for her son, grandsons, and future generations of Bonaparte descendants. In this richly-illustrated lecture, Deutsch will highlight little-known stories and never-before-seen objects discovered while researching the book, which will be available for purchase and signing by the author.
