Part I is a general overview of indentured, convict, and enslaved laborers in the region, particularly in the seventeenth century. Part II is a more focused study of the lives of enslaved and free blacks in colonial Annapolis, with a consideration also of the bound laborers at work in the Paca household. Reservations encouraged.
