Check out a Summer Camp

Now that we are finally moving into post-pandemic recovery, summer once again means summer camps! Some of our partners offer summer camp opportunities or other events for children, and they’d love for you to join them.

Summer camps at Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks are now open for registration. They offer fun and safe day camps, child care, outdoor adventure, dance, summer enrichment, aquatics and more. Choose from a variety of themed activities from Amusement Park Adventures to Mad About Movies. They also just introduced Nature Escape: Mini-Camp, an affordable late summer program occurring simultaneously across six county parks and properties. Space is limited to 10 campers per park, so register today.

Registration is also open for Annapolis Maritime Museum’s Summer Camp 2021. Their camps allow children to be themselves, gain new skills, and connect with others. With AMM, children will play in the woods and water, discover more about our local maritime heritage, and become inspired environmental stewards.

Not ready to commit to a summer camp but looking for family-friendly activities? Some of our partners are now offering in-person programs for youth and kids. Historic London Town and Gardens hosts Learning at London Town, a new series of on-site educational programs for children. In these themed monthly programs, your children will enjoy a safe, socially distanced space to learn about science and history with their peers. Historic Annapolis presents Mr. Paca’s Summer Storytime, featuring fun activities in the William Paca Garden. Each program is designed for little ones (4-7 years) with a book reading, song, craft/art project, and free time in the garden. Or visit Hammond-Harwood House for their Summer Storytime. July features the “Architect’s Apprentice” and in August children can learn about “Digging up the Past at Hammond-Harwood House.”

Have a safe, busy, and educational summer in the Four Rivers Heritage Area!
