Many people may be wondering how to check whether their heritage site or proposed project is located within the heritage area's approved boundaries (these were expanded in April 2021). Here is the tool to use! Go to Medusa, Maryland's Cultural Resources Information System, https://apps.mht.maryland.gov/medusa/ In the left sidebar, click on "Layers". The Maryland Commission on African American History and Culture (MCAAHC) and the Maryland Historical Trust (MHT) have awarded thirteen African American Heritage Preservation Program (AAHPP) grants totaling $1,000,000 to Maryland nonprofit groups for FY22.
