MHAA Offers COVID-19 Emergency Operating Grant Opportunity

We are pleased to share that the MHAA COVID-19 Emergency Operating Grants for Nonprofits are now open.  The guidelines are below for your reference. Nonprofit heritage tourism organizations located within the boundaries of Four Rivers Heritage Area (or the boundaries of any of Maryland's Certified Heritage Areas) that have been impacted by the COVID-19 crisis are eligible to apply for Emergency Grants of up to $20,000.  Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, with all applications received by the first of each month considered as a group.  The first deadline...

Explore “African-American Voices, Memories and Places: A Four Rivers Heritage Trail”

This was a project that was executed when our name was "Four Rivers Heritage Area." Anne Arundel County’s Office of Planning and Zoning and the Lost Towns Project developed a “virtual trail” exploring our area’s African American history and heritage in 2019. This resource is entitled, “African-American Voices, Memories and Places: A Four Rivers Heritage Trail.” The online “trail” highlights nearly 200 historic sites about African American life within the geographic area of our original heritage area boundaries. Four Rivers Shares Workshop Resources About Accessibility

On Thursday, January 17, Four Rivers presented a workshop entitled, "Improving the Visitor Experience for Visitors with Physical Disabilities," which took place at the Annapolis Maritime Museum in Eastport.
