Newly-added to the Chesapeake Crossroads Heritage Area, this region, known as “North County,” has a rich heritage. Annapolis Kunta Kinte Heritage Festival Returns This Saturday

The Kunta Kinte Heritage Festival will return to City Dock for the 32nd year on Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The festival is for all ages to celebrate the perseverance, education and cultural heritage of Africans, African Americans and Caribbean people of African descent. Chesapeake Crossroads Heritage Area is pleased to announce the availability of our Fall 2022 (FY23) Mini-Grants! Visit the Mini-Grants tab on our Grants page to access the Application and Guidelines. Applications in the new grant cycle are due by Wednesday October 5 and funding decisions will be announced by October 31, 2022. These Mini-Grants are available for new heritage and preservation-related programs, activities, products, and events. Maryland Dove will visit Annapolis September 9-11

The new Maryland Dove, a 84 foot wooden ship from Historic St. Mary’s City (HSMC), will be visiting Annapolis September 9 - 11, 2022.
