On Wednesday, March 30, County Executive Steuart Pittman, in partnership with the Caucus of African American Leaders, honored our Board Member, Gertrude Makell, with 13 additional women who have had tremendous impact in Anne Arundel County. AND the current exhibit happens to showcase exceptional, powerful, and breathtaking works of fine art! Housed within the Museum of Historic Annapolis is a new permanent exhibition, "Annapolis: An American Story,” which focuses on the history of Annapolis over the past 400 years. Year in Review: Grants Awarded in 2022

In 2022, the Chesapeake Crossroads Heritage Area brought $367,768 in state funding to capital and non-capital projects at heritage sites, museums, and non-profit organizations in our area, as well as three grants to Chesapeake Crossroads, which include support for our important Mini-Grant program. The Mini-Grants were funded by a Block Grant from the state, plus $1,494 in private funds. These fully-matched grants leveraged more than $878,000 in total project costs.
