Community Safety Works Funding Applications Now Being Accepted

The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) is administering a Community Safety Works grant opportunity for nonprofit facility improvements. Funding will encourage the implementation of crime prevention strategies through physical design improvements, operational activities, and through community vigilance and maintenance. Eligible applicants include Maryland-based nonprofit organizations, including nonprofit faith-based organizations. Many people may be wondering how to check whether their heritage site or proposed project is located within the heritage area's approved boundaries (these were expanded in April 2021). Here is the tool to use! Go to Medusa, Maryland's Cultural Resources Information System, https://apps.mht.maryland.gov/medusa/ In the left sidebar, click on "Layers".
