Four Rivers Heritage Area Presents Workshop on Planned Giving

Presentation by Patricia Bender, Director of Planned Giving, United States Naval Academy Foundation

Who should attend: Interested board members, staff, and/or volunteers from our Four Rivers partner sites and organizations.

When: Thursday, June 18, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Where: Captain Avery Museum, 1418 East West Shady Side Road, Shady Side

Patricia Bender has over twenty years of experience in gift planning for higher education and social service organizations. She is presently Director of Planned Giving at the U.S. Naval Academy Foundation.  Prior to joining the Foundation she was associate director of planned giving at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania for 10 years, and the University of Wisconsin–Stout as director of major gift planning for 4 years. Planned giving was one of her responsibilities when she served as director of development for YWCA of Delaware and Indian Waters Girl Scout Council.  She has an M.A. in Philanthropy and Development from St. Mary’s University — her thesis topic was “Developing a Planned Giving Marketing Plan for a Small Not-for-Profit.”

Light refreshments will be served.
