London Town is celebrating their gardens with our 2017 winter lecture series! This February’s lectures will discuss how gardens sustain our bodies and souls, and lectures will include the influence of enslaved Africans’ foodways on American food traditions, George Washington’s gardens and farms, and the modern development of cold-hardy camellias.
Join them on March 25 for culinary historian Deborah Peterson’s talk on seasonal foodways, which will bring to light just how dependent colonial Americans were on the seasons of the year for their food and touch on goods imported into the colonies.
$10 per person. Free for members.
